Xueqing Wang

Xueqing Wang is a seasoned professional in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields, currently serving as Senior Director and Head of Oncology Chemistry at AbbVie since September 2020. In this role, Xueqing leads multiple Oncology discovery programs and oversees Oncology ADC discovery efforts. Previously, Xueqing held the position of Project Director at Pharmacyclics, an AbbVie Company, where strategic plans for target validation were developed for exploratory oncology programs. Xueqing's career at AbbVie also includes significant contributions as a Senior Principal Scientist and Principal Scientist, focusing on medicinal chemistry and development of clinical candidates for various indications. Earlier experience at Abbott involved designing patentable ligands across multiple target classes. Xueqing holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Northwestern University, completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, and earned an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
