Boris Zimka has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and machine learning. Boris currently works as a Principal Software Engineer at ABBYY, where they develop deep learning models for activity understanding on desktop screencasts. Prior to this role, Boris was the Head of the Screenshot Analysis Group at ABBYY, where they led a team of engineers and developed deep learning models for action understanding and segmentation. Before joining ABBYY, Boris worked as a Senior Software Engineer at ABBYY, where they developed computer vision models for passport rectification and face detection. In addition to their industry experience, Boris has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, where they taught a course on Deep Learning for Computer Vision and supervised master and bachelor students. Prior to that, Boris worked as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at AiTend, where they developed surveillance SaaS for dairy farms and led a team of engineers. Boris also worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at AiTend, where they developed computer vision systems for livestock monitoring and behavior analysis. Boris started their career as a Software Engineer at the National Platform of Open Education.

Boris Zimka obtained a Bachelor's degree in Medical and Biological Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) from 2011 to 2015. Boris later pursued a Master's degree in Molecular and Chemical Physics from the same institution from 2015 to 2017. Boris also holds additional certifications in Sensor Fusion and Non-linear Filtering for Automotive Systems from Chalmers University of Technology and in Machine Learning and Data Analysis from Coursera. Boris has also completed a certification in Programming in C++(Advanced) from Stepik.
