Luke Hughes GAICD has a diverse work experience spanning over various industries and roles. Luke most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer - Disability at Ability Options, starting in January 2023. Before that, they held the position of Executive Director Quality and Risk at Newcastle Anglican from June 2022 to December 2022. Luke also has experience as the Chief Audit and Risk Officer at Ability Options from July 2019 to June 2022. Additionally, they worked as the Governance and Transition Manager at HV Disability Services from August 2018 to July 2019. Prior to that, they were self-employed as a Consultant for a short period in July 2018. Luke Hughes GAICD has a comprehensive education history that includes various degrees and certificates. In 1995, they attended the University of Newcastle and completed a Bachelor of Finance degree. Luke further enriched their academic qualifications by pursuing a Master of Social Change and Development degree from 2007 to 2009, also at the University of Newcastle. In 2014 and 2015, Luke Hughes enrolled at the QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and earned a Graduate Certificate of Business with a specialization in Public Sector Management. Continuing their professional development, in 2019, they attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors and completed the Company Directors Course. Recently, from 2020 to 2022, Luke pursued a Graduate Certificate in Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management from the Governance Institute of Australia.
