Mark Lay

Mark Lay is the current Finance Director at Abingdon & Witney College. Prior to this, they held the position of Tax and Financial Operations Controller at Housing & Care 21 from June 2012 to December 2014. Mark was responsible for all financial operations and transaction processing within the company, reporting into the Head of Finance and Treasury. Mark led a team of circa 55 staff in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Care Billing, Payroll, Property Income, Taxation and Insurance. Mark's key tasks were to relocate the Property Income team from Cirencester and the Accounts Payable team from Beaconsfield into the new shared services office in Birmingham by the end of 2014.

Previously, they managed the Property Income Team based in Cirencester where their key focus was to reduce tenant rent arrears (reduced current tenant arrears from £2.8m to £1.4m in just over 1 year), and ensure that new tenants adhere to their tenancy agreement.

Before joining Housing & Care 21, Lay was the Director at OxTreeGen Ltd. Mark also has experience as a Finance Director, having worked at Comment Retail Services from June 2005 to November 2008.

Mark Lay's educational career consists of completing a Type: AAT in Accounting from Abingdon and Witney College, followed by a certification from Magdalen College School in ACMA.
