Tara James

Tara James serves as the Director of Safety at ABL Space Systems, a firm focused on developing innovative launch vehicle and systems technology. Previously, Tara held the position of Director of Security Operations at Rivian, where responsibilities included establishing multiple Security Operations Programs. Earlier roles include Security Manager at Tesla, where duties involved overseeing security operations at the Fremont factory, and serving as an LE/Dispatch In-Service Coordinator with the South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium. Tara also contributed as an Emergency Response Consultant for the Evergreen School District and held roles in law enforcement with the Milpitas Police Department. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington, polygraph certification, a paramedic license, and fire academy training.
