Sue Johnson

Sue Johnson is the Director of the East Palo Alto Office at Able Works. Sue has over 20 years of experience in the business world, with a focus on Latin America.

Sue started their career at Apple Computer, Inc. in 1989 as a Business Development Manager for Latin America. In this role, they developed Apple Latin America’s Strategic Plan to improve distribution in Mexico and Brazil, including establishing a sales office in Mexico City and Sao Paolo and transitioning from an exclusive two-tier distribution model to a non-exclusive distribution model with a local Apple presence. Sue also developed price models using alternative manufacturing strategies for Brazil to lower end user pricing.

In their next role at Apple Latin America, Sue became the Channel Development Manager where they supported distributors and dealers selling Apple products in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her duties included researching, developing and implementing strategies to sell Apple products through alternative channels such as department stores, catalogs and mass merchants. Sue also developed an Annual Operating Performance Report of over 100 of Apple’s exclusive dealers in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Sue’s final role at Apple was as a Customer Support Specialist for Latin America where they managed distribution for Apple’s exclusive distributors in Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay, Peru, and the Caribbean. In this role they ensured export/import compliance for all countries, provided pipeline visibility to distributors and assisted sales managers with weekly forecasting. Sue also assisted in the implementation of SAP distribution software.

In 2010, Sue left Apple to become the Operations Manager at Ravenswood Education Foundation where they managed all operational aspects of individual, corporate and foundation giving, resulting in a 77% revenue increase in three years. During their time at Ravenswood, Sue also developed strategic partnerships and facilitated multiple projects to improve the facilities of Ravenswood Schools. Some of their notable partners included Facebook, Google, SAP, VMware, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Kirkpatrick & Townsend.

Sue Johnson earned a MIM from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Master’s Degree in International Business from Esade, and an MBA in Business from Baylor University - Hankamer School of Business. Sue also holds a BA in Business and Spanish from Baylor University.

Sue Johnson reports to John Liotti, CEO. Umeeka Sheena - Manager - AchieveAble, East Palo Alto, Blanca Medina - Manager - Liveable, East Palo Alto report to Sue Johnson. They work with Maria Chavez - Managing Director, Central Valley, Linda Rascon - Executive Assistant / Business Manager, and Sushil Chacko - Director of Finance.
