John Matthews

John Matthews has extensive experience in financial services, currently serving as Managing Director and Head of UK Financial Institution Coverage at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. since November 2014, focusing on expanding the bank's presence in the UK. Prior to this role, John held the position of Managing Director at Standard Chartered Bank from April 2009 to June 2014, overseeing origination and client coverage for large European financial institutions. From 1999 to 2009, John worked as Managing Director of Client Coverage for Financial Institutions at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, where a debt and ratings advisory team was established. In addition to a distinguished career, John recently embraced retirement as a self-employed free agent and actively participates as a Parish Councillor in Westleton. John holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and is an alumnus of Haileybury College.
