Jethro Kuan

Jethro Kuan is a skilled Machine Learning Engineer currently employed at Abnormal Security since January 2022. Previously, Jethro worked as a Natural Language Processing Engineer at ByteDance and served as a Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore, focusing on robotics research within the Collaborative, Learning, and Adaptive Robots (CLeAR) group. Jethro's experience includes internships at Twitter and Carousell as a Data Scientist, where contributions included feature engineering for recommendation systems and developing Smart Reply models. With prior roles as a Teaching Assistant and Software Engineer Intern at the National University of Singapore and Carousell, Jethro has a strong foundation in both academic and practical applications of computer science. Jethro holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and completed secondary education at Raffles Institution. Notably, Jethro co-authored a paper titled "Event-Driven Visual-Tactile Sensing and Learning for Robots," presented at RSS 2020.
