John Parsons

John Parsons has extensive experience in software development and engineering leadership, currently serving as the Director of Engineering at AboveBoard since June 2020, where focus is on enhancing diversity in executive hiring. Previously, John held the position of Director of Software Development at Thrive TRM, leading a team in the ongoing development of a SAAS application for executive hiring. Prior roles include Software Engineer at Promptworks, where John specialized in Ruby, Rails, and React, and Software Consultant at Neomind Labs, working with diverse clients. John also has experience in project management and technical roles from positions at the Associated Press, New York Public Library, IBM Global Services, OVEN Digital, and Time Inc. Educational background includes a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Religion from Wesleyan University.
