Sara Thompson

Sara Thompson is an experienced payroll and HRIS professional, currently serving as the Head of Global Payroll at abrdn since June 2024. Previous roles include Senior Manager at LACE Partners and HRIS & Payroll Programme Manager at New Look, where Sara led a £5 million HR/Payroll transformation project. At Reckitt, the position of Global Payroll Programme Manager involved driving a £10 million global HR/Payroll transformation across 70+ countries. Sara has also held significant roles at GSK as Global Payroll Programme Director, Pentland Brands Ltd as HRIS Project Manager, and the Financial Times in various capacities. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Knowledge Management, a Diploma in Business Administration, and a BA (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Derby.
