Fabian Mpuku

Fabian Mpuku has a diverse work experience in the banking industry. Their most recent position was as an Ast. Vice President - Global Corporates & Multinationals in the Corporate and Investment Banking division at Absa Group, starting in April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Access Bank Plc as a Senior Corporate Manager & Head- Coverage in the Corporate & Investment Banking division. In this role, they led a team of CIB Relationship Managers and managed various portfolios in sectors such as Oil and Gas, FMCGs, FIs, Telecoms, and Agriculture. Fabian also acted as the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking in the absence of the Head of Department. Before Access Bank Plc, Fabian worked at Ecobank Zambia as a Regional Corporates- Manager in the Corporate & Investment Banking division. Their responsibilities included managing corporate portfolios and handling structured Trade and Debt transactions. Fabian collaborated with external players such as the European Investment Bank and financial institutions on syndications and club deals. Fabian also has experience at Investrust Bank Plc, where they held various roles including Manager, Treasury in the Treasury Front Office and Relationship Manager & Head - Vehicle and Asset Finance in the Corporate & Investment Banking division. Additionally, they worked as a Retail and Corporate Operations Officer and started their career as a Bank Clerk.

Fabian Mpuku has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Zambia, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. Fabian then pursued an MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Lusaka from 2015 to 2017. Currently, they are working towards a Doctorate Degree in Investment Portfolio Management from the University of Lusaka, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete by 2024. In addition to their academic pursuits, Fabian also obtained several professional certificates from The Virtual Banking Institute and the Zambia College of Pensions and Insurance Trust, focusing on areas such as Foreign Exchange Assessment, Corporate Credit, Credit Risk Management, and Investment Advisory and Stockbrokers Course.
