Lawrence Paramasivam

Lawrence Paramasivam has extensive work experience in the legal and financial sectors. Lawrence is currently serving as the Senior Executive Director of Policy & Legal at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), where they provide legal advisory services and legislative support to various divisions within the company. Prior to this, they worked at DFSA, where they held various roles including Director of Strategy, Policy, and Risk, Director of Conduct of Business, Supervision, and Associate Director of Policy and Legal Services. Lawrence also has experience working as a Senior Compliance Counsel and Senior Enforcement Lawyer/Investigator at ASIC. Additionally, they have worked as an In-House Counsel at Harada Ltd and a Senior Lawyer at Crown Law. Lawrence started their career as a Legal Clerk at Dominic David Stamfords, Attorney, and an Accounting Clerk at AJ Stokell & Co Chartered Accountants.

Lawrence Paramasivam pursued a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Business and Accountancy from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) between 1991 and 1995. Lawrence completed a Barrister program at the Queensland Bar Practice Course in 1997. In 2002, they attained a Graduate Diploma in Company Secretarial and Practice from Chartered Secretaries Australia. In 2003, they earned a Graduate Diploma in an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Mt Eliza Business School. Additionally, they obtained an Islamic Finance Qualification from the Securities and Investments Institute (UK) in 2009. Lawrence later completed the Business School - Leadership Programme from Queen's University in 2011. Finally, in 2013 and 2014, Paramasivam attended Hult Ashridge, though it is unclear what degree or field of study they pursued during that time.
