Susan Wallis

Ms. Wallis graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1993 with a degree in Health Information Management. She is a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), and an AHIMA approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. Ms. Wallis has 20+ years of experience in Health Information Management with an emphasis in the post-acute care arena including LTAC, Rehab, and Psych. Her area of specialization includes ICD-9-CM, CMG, and MS-DRG Auditing, ICD-10-CM/PCS Training, Privacy and Security Compliance, HIM Operational Assessments, Compliance with Joint Commission, as well as Federal and State Regulations, Work Process Reengineering, Physician Credentialing, Technology Implementation, Physician Documentation Improvement, and Coder Education.

After graduating from college, Ms. Wallis became the Director of Health Information Management and Performance Improvement for a multi-campus Long Term Acute Care Hospital in North, LA for 8 years. From 2001-2009, Ms. Wallis was the Corporate Director of Health Information Management and Centralized Credentialing, as well as HIPAA Privacy Officer, for a multi-facility specialty hospital system based in Baton Rouge, LA. Prior to joining Acadiana Management Group, LLC, Ms. Wallis was the HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer and Compliance Coordinator for a publicly traded, post-acute healthcare company.

Ms. Wallis is a long-standing member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), a member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS). Ms. Wallis was also an elected official of the Jackson Parish School Board from 2003-2006.
