Rafa Horowitz

Rafa Horowitz has over 15 years of work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer for Accel Robotics, where they lead the migration of a previous final user web-app to use new API and infrastructure, develops internal tools, and designs and develops improvements to Shopper and Employee mobile App using technologies such as ReactJS, ReactNative/Expo, Firebase, ReactAdmin, Git, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Software Engineer for Pluto TV, where they were in charge of the Analytics component and developed web-driven platforms for web, TVs, and low-powered devices for Pluto's TV and on-demand streaming. In 2017, they worked as a Software Architect for Bestoffshore Analytics, and in 2016, they were a Software Developer for Freelancer. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Senior Software Developer for WithMe (AKA OrderWithMe), where they designed and developed the company back office app. From 2013 to 2014, they were the Director of Engineering for theLIFT, where they oversaw the development team, organized and planned technical projects, and produced and maintained project documentation. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Sr Software Developer for Virgin Gaming, where they did software development and debugging. From 2010 to 2012, they were a Team Leader for Band Of Coders, where they lead a team of 25 Java developers, did software development, architecture definition, tasks specification, estimation, and assignment, interacted with clients, helped on staffing and team training, and did Amazon Web Services (cloud) admin. Finally, from 2006 to 2010, they were a Senior Developer for Flaptor, where they developed an open-source search engine and designed and developed a Social Network web application.

Rafa Horowitz obtained a B.Sc. in Computer Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem - Israel between 1997 and 2001. Rafa then earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the same institution between 2003 and 2005. In 2011, they obtained a Scrum Master certification from scrumalliance.org.
