Design Engineer at AccelerComm

Arhum Alam has six years of work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Graduate Engineer for AccelerComm Ltd. In 2020, they were an Intern for Emerson. From 2018 to 2021, Arhum was an Intern at University of Southampton Malaysia, where they assembled, inspected, tested and troubleshot PCBs of two lab-scale grid-connected voltage source inverters for renewable energy and micro grid applications, designed and 3D printed heatsinks and component holders, and carried out visual checks and simulations. Arhum was also the Secretary of the Student Association, where they piloted a calendar management and file sharing system, managed paperwork and email correspondence for social events, and trained secretary candidates. From 2017 to 2018, Arhum was the Head of Communication and Marketing for TEDxUoSM, where they developed a yearlong promotional campaign, recruited and trained a social media team, and was the Master of Ceremony for the live event. In 2018, they were an Intern at Chumbaka, designing and conducting lessons on embedded Scratch programming using Arduino and 3D printing, developing online marketing resources, and being a brand ambassador. Lastly, from 2017 to 2018, Arhum was the Secretary for UoSM IET OnCampus, where they initiated and organised regular meetings, formulated proposals and reports for events, and was the chief formal communicator of the society.

Arhum Alam has a comprehensive educational background. Arhum completed their secondary school education at Mutiara International Grammar School in 2016, earning an IGCSE. Arhum then pursued a Foundation degree in Engineering at University of Southampton Malaysia from 2016 to 2017. Subsequently, they completed a Master of Engineering - MEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at both University of Southampton and University of Southampton Malaysia from 2017 to 2021. In addition, they have obtained certifications in UVM Adopter Class from Doulos in 2022, and How to Use LinkedIn Learning and Learning LinkedIn for Students from LinkedIn in 2020.
