Alan Jope, a member of Accenture’s board of directors since April 2023, is chief executive officer of Unilever, a multinational consumer products company headquartered in the UK.
Alan joined Unilever in 1985. Before being appointed as chief executive officer of Unilever in 2019, he served as president of Unilever’s Beauty & Personal Care division. He also worked in various leadership roles in North America for 14 years and Asia for 13 years.
Alan is chair of the board of UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited, vice chair of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Executive Committee and a member of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council Executive Committee. He also serves as a trustee of The Leverhulme Trust, the UK’s largest private sector funder of non-medical academic research.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Commerce with honours from Edinburgh University, Scotland, and graduated from Harvard Business School's General Management Program in 2001. Recently, he was appointed Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford.
