Andrew Johnson

Andrew Johnson has extensive work experience in the field of medical research. Andrew is currently serving as the Associate Director of Program Management and Strategic Development at The Access to Advanced Health Institute. Prior to this, they worked as a Staff Scientist at Fred Hutch and as a Senior Fellow at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Andrew has also held roles as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Institute of Materia Medica in the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and as a Group Leader Immunology at 4D Pharma Research Limited. Andrew has a strong academic background, including a D. Phil in Graduate research from the University of Oxford, where their focus was on the intestinal immune system. Andrew also has experience as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at UC San Diego and as a Placement Student in Pharmacology at UCB.

Andrew Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry with study in industry from the University of Bristol in 2007. Andrew then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Immunology at the University of Oxford from 2007 to 2011. Most recently, in 2022, Johnson acquired a certificate in Project Management from UW Professional & Continuing Education.
