Valerie Soza

Valerie Soza is a highly experienced Senior Scientific Editor at The Access to Advanced Health Institute, with a focus on developing content for scientific manuscripts and grant proposals in vaccinology. Valerie has extensive editing experience, having worked as a Freelance Academic Editor for EditorBar Language Editing Co. Ltd. and TopEdit Author Services, where editing included language, copyediting, and developmental support for scientific manuscripts. Prior to these roles, Valerie served for nearly 18 years at the University of Washington in various research capacities, including Research Scientist, Postdoctoral Research Associate, and Doctoral Student, managing projects in evolutionary developmental biology, phylogenomics, and comparative genomics resulting in multiple publications. Valerie also has experience in science policy as a Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Fellow at the Marian Koshland Science Museum and possesses a PhD in Biology from the University of Washington and a BA in Environmental Studies & Anthropology from Pitzer College.
