Tim Sodergren

Tim Sodergren has had a long and varied career. Tim began their professional career in 1989 as a Major in the Signal Corps of the Utah Army National Guard. In 2002, they joined Schlumberger as a Senior Petrophysicist, where they developed comprehensive field-wide property models and invented a cluster analysis based technique for statistical rock classification. In 2015, they became President and Manager of Alta Petrophysical LLC. From 2016 to 2020, they served as a Research Assistant at the University of Utah Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute, where they applied data science techniques to scientific research projects and developed an online tool for visualization of sensor network coverage with location uncertainty using topological data analysis techniques. In 2020, they joined Tecolote Research as a Data Scientist. Currently, they are Algorithm Team Lead at AccuPulse Medical Inc.

Tim Sodergren received their Bachelor of Science in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Utah in 2000, after beginning their studies in 1996. Tim then went on to receive their Master of Science in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Utah in 2002.
