Ian Urbas

Ian Urbas has a diverse work experience in software development. Ian started as a Lead Software Developer at CheckMark, Inc. in 2010, where they developed and maintained cross-platform payroll and accounting software. Ian modernized the application suite using C++ with wxWidgets and SQLite databases and collaborated in developing a new tax form printing and e-filing application.

In 2014, Ian joined CA Technologies as a Software Engineer, delivering regular enhancements for an enterprise-level on-premise application. Ian developed RESTful Java services querying MySQL and NoSQL Elasticsearch databases and automated testing using Jenkins and Postman/Newman.

In 2018, Ian became a Software Engineer at Paycor, focusing on developing and continuously improving multi-tenant SaaS applications. Ian developed Dockerized Node.js services deployed to AWS Lambdas with React UI using GraphQL network communication and NoSQL DynamoDB storage.

Since 2020, Ian has been working as a Java Software Developer, Lead at Ace Info Solutions LLC, contracting with FEMA to develop high-profile SaaS applications. Ian leads the development of new Java/Angular web applications, mentors new/junior developers, and handles tasks such as defining requirements, creating JIRA stories, implementing full-stack solutions, managing Jenkins pipelines, and deploying applications using Openshift.

Ian Urbas attended Colorado State University from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
