Xun Liu (Tommy)

Xun (Tommy) Liu has a diverse range of work experience. Xun (Tommy) started their career as a Computer Technician at KEIT Computers, where they performed computer diagnostics, troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and also provided customer instruction on computer hardware and software.

Xun (Tommy) then transitioned to a role as a Software Programmer at Comware Co., where they designed and programmed internal databases, developed and maintained database applications using SQL Server and ASP.Net, and designed interfaces between applications and business units to support reporting and application integration efforts.

After that, Xun worked as a Microstrategy Developer at SPUKK Co., where they utilized their skills in Microstrategy to develop business intelligence solutions.

Xun then joined TNS Canada as a Programmer, where they gathered questionnaire/reporting requirements, programmed online/interactive survey questionnaires using ConfirmIT/IBM, tested and debugged questionnaire logic and scripts, deployed surveys from development to live environments, and exported data to various formats for analysis.

At D+H, Xun took on the role of BI Microstrategy Administrator/Architect/Developer. Xun (Tommy) gathered business requirements, designed BI data warehouse models, created Microstrategy schema objects, developed interactive dashboards and scorecards, created freeform reports, managed and created Microstrategy users/user groups/security roles, created scripts, deployed projects/configurations, provided support to both business and technical teams, mentored/trained team members, investigated and resolved reports and data issues, monitored and managed Microstrategy compliance, engaged vendors for technical issues, and created technical design documents and deployment documents.

Most recently, Xun worked at Achievers as a Business Intelligence Developer. Xun (Tommy) gathered business requirements, participated in designing BI data warehouse models, created ETL mappings and workflows, designed and created Microstrategy schema objects, developed interactive dashboards and scorecards, managed/created Microstrategy users/user groups/security roles, provided support and training, investigated and resolved issues, supported ETL processes, and fixed data issues in the data warehouse.

Overall, Xun (Tommy) Liu has demonstrated a strong skill set in business intelligence development, data modeling, Microstrategy administration and development, and programming.

Xun (Tommy) Liu obtained an Associate's Degree in Computer Programming from Seneca College, where they studied from 1999 to 2001. In addition to their degree, they have acquired various certifications including "Google Cloud Platform Essential Training," "Apache Spark Essential Training," "Learning Hadoop (2015)," "Become a Python Developer," and "Software Architecture: Domain-Driven Design" from LinkedIn. These certifications were obtained between February 2020 and June 2020.
