Andrew Bird has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries. Andrew currently serves as the CEO (Interim) at Acino since July 2023. Prior to this, they were the General Manager, Head of Region, Middle East, Turkey & Africa at Acino from October 2018 to July 2023.

Earlier in their career, Andrew worked at Pfizer as a Regional Marketing Director, Africa & Middle East, and Senior European Brand Manager. Andrew also held various sales and marketing positions at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson from 1999 to 2007.
Before entering the pharmaceutical industry, Andrew worked as a Medicinal Chemist at Cerebrus Ltd, a Research Chemist at GlaxoWellcome, and in production management at Croda.
Andrew Bird's education history includes a variety of degrees and fields of study. Andrew began their academic journey at Bolton School, where they completed their O & A Levels from 1982 to 1989. Andrew then attended the University of East Anglia from 1989 to 1992, earning a BSc in Chemistry.
