Catherine Kelly has extensive work experience in the legal and governance field. Catherine started their career as a Legal Assistant at Archers Law LLP in 1999 and later joined City of York Council as a Senior Legal Assistant. In this role, they primarily handled housing litigation cases and obtained the Council's first Interim Possession Order. Catherine then joined ONGO PARTNERSHIP LIMITED as a Legal & Governance Manager, where they managed the Legal and Governance Services for the group. Catherine also worked as a Non-Executive Director at Lincolnshire Credit Union and Chartford Housing Limited. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Legal & Governance at Acis Group, where they are responsible for the Legal, Governance, and Data Protection functions. Additionally, Catherine serves as a Co-opted Committee Member at Pickering and Ferens Homes, a Foundation Governor at Sir John Nelthorpe School, and a Co-opted Trustee at Brigg Sir John Nelthorpe School Foundation.
Catherine Kelly completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Corporate Governance at Leeds Beckett University from 2014 to 2015. In addition, they have also obtained the certification of Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives from the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx).
