David Burt

David Burt has a diverse work experience in the field of biostatistics. David is currently serving as the Senior Director and Head of Biostatistics at Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Director, Biostatistics at Trevena, Inc. from 2015 to 2018.

David has also worked at GlaxoSmithKline as a Statistics Manager from 2012 to 2015. During this time, they served as the Lead Statistician for projects in various therapeutic areas such as Ophthalmology, Rare Diseases, and Dermatology. David was also a part of the Clinical Statistics Training team at GlaxoSmithKline.

Before joining GlaxoSmithKline, David worked as a Principal Biostatistician at Bristol-Myers Squibb from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Principal Biostatistician at Wyeth from 2005 to 2009. At Wyeth, they were involved in statistical review, supported various therapeutic areas, and mentored other biostatisticians.

David's career started as a Biostatistician at Abbott Laboratories in 2000, where they worked on designing clinical trials and providing statistical methodology and analyses for study reports. Additionally, they served as a Senior Statistical Consultant at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University from 1995 to 1999.

David Burt earned their Ph.D. in Statistics from Virginia Tech between 1995 and 2000. Prior to that, they obtained their M.S in Mathematics from East Tennessee State University, studying there from 1991 to 2004. Their undergraduate degree, a B.A. in Mathematics, was earned from King University, where they attended from 1987 to 1990.
