Lauren Alicia Johnson

Lauren Alicia Johnson is a legal professional with extensive experience in advocacy and litigation. Currently serving as the Director of the Abortion Criminal Defense Initiative at the ACLU since February 2023, Lauren also holds the position of Board Treasurer at the DC Justice Lab. Previously, Lauren worked as Senior Litigation Counsel at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., and as Senior Legal Counsel at The Justice Collaborative. Earlier in the career, Lauren was a Staff Attorney at the Public Defender Service and an E. Barrett Prettyman Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center. Lauren began the professional journey as a Sales Analyst at Barclays after earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from Georgetown University. Lauren further advanced legal education with a Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law.
