William Reiss

Senior Director CMC Quality at Acrotech BioPharma

William Reiss has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Their most recent role was as the Director CMC Quality at Acrotech Biopharma, LLC since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Independent Consultant, providing professional quality assurance consulting and training services to various companies since 2002.

Before their consultancy role, Reiss held positions at Alvogen as a Quality Relationship Manager from May 2019 to July 2020. William served as an Associate Director, Corporate Quality at SUN PHARMA from May 2017 to May 2019, where they were involved in developing global strategies for contractor management and quality risk management.

In their tenure at Celgene, Reiss held multiple roles including Senior Manager QA Operations Commercial Americas, where they had full product lifecycle quality oversight and led vendor and data integrity programs. William also served as Senior Manager Supplier Quality Agreements & Global Sample Retain, where they improved efficiency and compliance of the sample retain program and led the product withdrawal program.

Prior to Celgene, Reiss worked at Merck as the Manager, Contractor Management Systems from 2006 to 2010. William managed the global technical/quality agreement program and was a lead auditor for supplier audits. William was recognized with 17 awards for performance excellence during their tenure.

Reiss started their career at First Brands Corporation (now Clorox) as a Chemist, where they conducted routine QC analysis and led laboratory efforts for product qualification. William also worked at Schering-Plough Research Institute and Bayer Pharmaceuticals in various quality assurance roles.

With extensive experience in quality assurance, contractor management, and developing global strategies, Reiss has a solid foundation in the pharmaceutical industry.

William Reiss has a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry from North Carolina State University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from SUNY Oneonta. William completed their high school education at Huntington High School, where they graduated from the College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program in 1979. In terms of certifications, they are a Certified Quality Auditor from ASQ since 1997.
