Dilip Thekkoodan has a wealth of experience in engineering and research, having worked in various roles since 2007. In 2007, they were a UROP Student at the Cooperative Systems Laboratory at the National University of Singapore. In 2008, they were a Research Intern at the Computational Mechanics Group at Imperial College London, and a Research Assistant at the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory at the National University of Singapore. In 2009, they were a Data-Analysis Intern at the Air Transportation Laboratory at Georgia Tech. In 2010, they were a Research Engineer at the Center for Environmental Sensing and Modeling at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology. In 2011, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at MIT. In 2013, they were a Visiting Student Research Collaborator at the CNRS - Institut de Mechanique des Fluides de Toulouse. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Technical Project Manager and Senior Coatings Engineer at LiquiGlide. From 2017 to 2020, they were a Senior Application Engineer and Principal Engineer at Desktop Metal. In 2020, they began working as a Principal Engineer at actnano, Inc.
Dilip Thekkoodan's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) from the National University of Singapore in Mechanical Engineering, obtained between 2006 and 2010. Dilip also completed a one-year exchange program at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. Dilip then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2014. During their time at MIT, they also obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computation for Design & Optimization in 2014. In addition, they obtained a Licentiate from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in International Ballroom between 2013 and 2015. Dilip also holds two certifications, a Mediation Skills Training Certificate from The Office of Student Citizenship, MIT obtained in June 2013, and a Graduate Student Teaching Certificate from the Dean for Graduate Education, MIT obtained in June 2012.
