Michael McDonough has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael started their career as a Wildlife Technician in the Tehabi Internship Program, where they conducted surveys and assisted with inventory efforts. Michael then worked as a Forestry Technician for the US Forest Service, where they performed trail building, participated in wild-land firefighting, and carried out surveys for invasive species. After that, they joined Steamboat Resort as a Hard Good Sales / Shop Manager, excelling in sales and managing employees. Michael also worked as a Land Surveyor Apprentice at Storm King Surveying and Mapping, where they gained experience in all aspects of land surveying. More recently, they worked at ACZ Laboratories, Inc. in various roles, including Lead Chemistry Analyst, Business Development, and currently serves as the Director of Marketing. In these positions, they conducted analysis, composed reports, and played a key role in marketing and business development activities.
Michael McDonough attended Utah State University from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies and Economics. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications such as the AdWords Search Certification from Google in March 2018. Michael also completed the Leadership Steamboat Program in 2015-2016, offered by the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association, and a Leadership Training Course provided by Timberline Leadership.
