Valerie R. Mercer

Valerie R. Mercer is an experienced human resources professional currently serving as Vice President of Human Resources at Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. since October 2019, where the mission focuses on empowering and educating individuals to strengthen communities. Prior roles include serving as Human Resources Business Partner at The Institute for Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago, where core HR functions for over 150 members were shaped and managed, and as Human Resources Director at the National Automatic Merchandising Association. Valerie has also worked as an HR Consultant, Regional Human Resources Manager at FINRA, and Director of Human Resources at the National Equity Fund, demonstrating a strong background in developing HR strategies and processes in various organizational settings. Valerie holds a Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Chicago State University.
