Xavier Fontana

Xavier Fontana is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in cell therapy and immunology. Currently serving as Principal Scientist at Adaptimmune since July 2019, Xavier has successfully managed a team of 4-5 process development scientists, focusing on operational decisions and staff training. Prior to this role, Xavier held positions as Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist at Cells4Life Group LLP, and served as a Research Associate at the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology (LMCB) at UCL. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral role at The Francis Crick Institute and a PhD in Molecular Biology from Universitat de Barcelona, completed in 2002.
