Paulo Barthelmess

Paulo Barthelmess has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 1998. Paulo began as a PhD Candidate and Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where they were involved in the preparation of NSF grant proposals and worked on two software platforms. In 2004, they became a Senior Research Associate at the Oregon Graduate Institute - OHSU, where they designed and developed a research software platform and tools. From 2005 to 2015, they were at Adapx, where they held two roles: VP of Solutions Engineering and Senior Research Engineer. In their VP role, they worked on mobile data collection solutions that leveraged natural language, and in their Senior Research Engineer role, they participated as Principal Investigator and researcher in a variety of projects. Since 2017, they have been the Principal at Hyssos Tech LLC and Field Data Integrators LLC.

Paulo Barthelmess obtained their Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder between 1998 and 2003. Before this, they obtained their M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas between 1993 and 1994. Theirfirst degree was a Tecnologo em Processamento de Dados in Information Technology from the Universidade Federal do Paran\u00e1 between 1978 and 1981.
