Sam Janssen

Director of Analytical Sciences at Adcentrx Therapeutics

Sam Janssen has a wealth of work experience in the field of analytical sciences. Sam began their career in 2001 as a Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, where they conducted research on peptide prodrugs targeted towards prostate cancer, as well as the synthesis and screening of combinatorial peptide libraries to identify breast cancer associated protease substrates for prodrug development. Sam then moved to Amylin Pharmaceuticals in 2003, where they worked as a Senior Research Investigator. In 2012, they joined Althea, CMO as an Associate Director, Manager of Analytical, and Scientist III. In this role, they operated and maintained Agilent Q-TOF 6520 mass spectrometers for high resolution peptide mapping, intact mass analysis, and glycan analysis. Sam also developed, qualified and validated analytical methods in a GMP environment. In 2018, they moved to Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services as an Associate Director. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Tanabe Research Laboratories U.S.A, Inc. as an Associate Director. Sam is currently employed as the Director of Analytical Sciences at Adcentrx Therapeutics, a position they have held since 2022.

Sam Janssen obtained a Bachelor of Biochemistry from Zuyd Hogeschool | Zuyd University of Applied Sciences between 1992 and 1996. Sam then went on to obtain a Doctorate in Molecular Biology from the University of Geneva between 1996 and 2001.
