René Elfrink has a diverse and extensive work experience in research and development. René started their career in 1996 as a Research Assistant at Philips research, where they focused on thin film deposition and surface analysis techniques. René then joined OM&T B.V. in 2001 as a Senior Development Engineer and Project Leader, responsible for the development of optical media and the standardization of new technologies.
In 2007, Elfrink moved to Holst Centre / IMEC-NL as a Research Engineer, where they conducted research on thin film batteries and energy harvesting techniques. René also developed various measurement setups for research projects.
Elfrink continued their career at Holst Centre / Imec-NL as a Senior Researcher in 2011. In this role, they managed projects related to sensor network platforms for IoT, sensor technology, and vibration energy harvesting. René contributed to top research through publications in journals and conferences and was responsible for the device design and characterization.
In 2019, Elfrink joined imec as an R&D Manager, where they oversaw research and development activities. Currently, they serve as an R&D Manager and Team Coach at Adimec Advanced Image Systems bv, starting in 2020.
René Elfrink pursued a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, completing their studies from 1991 to 1996. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in "Innovatief leiderschap" from Schouten & Nelissen in December 2020 and "Model Baarda™ voor beloningsmanagement" from Bureau Baarda in November 2020.
