James Lawson

Jim is currently CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors, at AdTheorent, Inc., a digital advertising technology company focusing on data-driven predictive solutions. Previously, Jim was AdTheorent's COO and General Counsel. AdTheorent uses advanced machine learning technology and solutions to deliver impactful advertising campaigns for marketers.

Jim has been a Managing Partner at Mogility Capital, LLC, an early-stage venture capital fund and lead investor to AdTheorent, Inc.

Jim has served as General Counsel and executive-level management to VC-backed and publicly traded companies, including Augme Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded mobile marketing technology services provider, and Interactions, LLC, a leading communications technology and service provider.

Jim was a Co-Founder of Augme Mobile, an integrated mobile marketing technology platform. Jim structured and effectuated the sale of Augme to publicly-traded Modavox, Inc. Following the sale Jim joined the acquiring company (re-named Augme Technologies, Inc.) where he served as its General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for the 12-month period following the acquisition.

Previously, Jim practiced business law as a Partner in the Washington, DC office of the law firm McDermott, Will & Emery, LLP, focusing on financial services and healthcare enterprises. Prior to that, Jim was an Associate in the Chicago office of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal in the firm’s Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits practice, and before that he was an Associate in the Chicago office of Ross & Hardies, LLP (now McGuire Woods, LLP) in the firm's Labor & Employment practice. During his law practice Jim has represented Fortune 100 companies and growing businesses in both litigation and counseling capacities with respect to a wide range of legal matters. Jim has represented buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisition. Jim has advised corporate boards of directors regarding fiduciary considerations, corporate governance and strategic matters.
