Brian Teipen

Brian Teipen has over 23 years of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Brian is currently working as a Principal Engineer in R&D System Architecture at Adtran since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at ADVA for 16 years, where they held various senior and principal engineering roles in R&D System Architecture and Advanced Technology. Before joining ADVA, Brian worked at Ciena as a Senior Systems Engineer for a year and at Xtera Communications as a Senior Engineer for a year as well. Brian started their career at Celion Networks as a Senior Architect for 4 years and also worked at MCI-Worldcom (Verizon) as a Senior Engineer for a year.

Brian Teipen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Indiana University Bloomington in 1995. Brian then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Optical Materials and Devices at The University of Texas at Dallas, which they completed in 1997. Subsequently, Brian continued their education at The University of Texas at Dallas and obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2000.
