Ahmed Abulila

Ahmed Abulila currently serves as a Memory Systems Performance Architect at AMD, focusing on high-performance memory subsystem designs for various computing applications. Prior experience includes roles at Microsoft, where significant contributions were made to custom silicon development, CPU and SoC designs, and the creation of infrastructure for CPU/SoC design space exploration. Ahmed has also engaged in research and teaching at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where efficient hardware support and memory-storage hierarchy optimizations were developed. Earlier positions involved memory architecture modeling at Micron Technology, research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on storage systems and neuromorphic computing, and internships with AMD on power reduction techniques. Ahmed holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, along with multiple degrees in computer engineering and circuit design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Minia University.
