Ilyas Ahmed

Ilyas Ahmed is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the technology sector. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at AMD since October 2023, Ilyas also founded Make Places Smart in September 2020, an automation company focused on enhancing independent living solutions for seniors. Prior experience includes senior director positions at Intel Corporation from 2016 to 2023, overseeing discrete graphics and power management product lines while managing teams across the US and India. Ilyas's career at Intel began in 1997 and includes roles as Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager, contributing to low power design automation and tool optimization for SoC designs. Ilyas holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Iowa State University.
