Nicholas Malaya has extensive experience in high-performance computing and Exascale systems, serving as a Fellow at AMD from December 2016 to June 2023, where responsibilities included leading technical teams and advising senior management on application performance. Prior roles at AMD encompassed positions such as Principal Member of Technical Staff and Technical Lead for the Centers of Excellence, focusing on application readiness and performance optimization for the Frontier and El Capitan supercomputers. Earlier experience includes work as a Research Engineer at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, and as a Graduate Student at the University of Texas at Austin, where Nicholas concentrated on parallel computation and turbulent flow algorithms. Nicholas holds a PhD in Computational Science and an M.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics, both from the University of Texas at Austin.
