Louise Harley-Smeur

Louise Harley-Smeur has over 20 years of experience in the field of intellectual property. Louise began their career in 1987 as a Part Time Tutor at Liverpool Polytechnic. Louise then moved on to become a Medical Physicist at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, UK in 1989 and a Lecturer at Suffolk College in Ipswich, UK in 1990. In 1992, they became a Financial Investigator at the Civil Service in the UK. In 2001, they were hired as a Patent Engineer at Philips Intellectual Property and Standards. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as a European Patent Attorney at Viering Jentschura and Partner. Louise then moved on to become a European Patent Attorney at KPN NV Corporate Intellectual Property Office from 2011 to 2012. Since 2015, they have been the Head of IP at Advanced Oncotherapy plc.

Louise Harley-Smeur has an extensive educational background. Louise obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Fine Art from KABK in an unknown year. Louise then went on to pursue a B.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from Queen Mary College, University of London from 1983 to 1986. Louise then obtained an M.Sc. in Medical Physics from the University of Aberdeen in 1988, followed by an MSc in Medical Physics from the same university in 1989-1990.
