Jim Dunlop is a Sales Consultant working in the PNW, specifically Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and western Canada, with crops such as hops, apples, blueberries, cherries, row crops and broad acre crops. He has been farming and working in agriculture for the past 25 years. In school, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in botany and a chemistry minor from Cal State Stanislaus. He has experience with most classes of livestock, vegetables, and tree fruit. He was an organic poultry and livestock farmer for over ten years. In 2010, Jim and his family sold their farm in California and spent a year traveling around the country working on farms and helping farmers develop systems and improve efficiency on their farms. During this trip, he realized his passion and ability for helping farmers solve problems and streamline their operations. He has worked in commercial-scale composting and has experience producing compost, compost logistics, and setting up compost trials in fruit orchards.
He worked for five years on a 300-acre cherry orchard for Mike Omeg as the biological programs manager. While working at this farm he learned about AEA products and methods and saw first hand how tree health and fruit quality can be drastically improved by following regenerative agricultural practices. With the help of AEA, Jim and Mike enjoyed many successes, so it was an easy choice for Jim to come to work with AEA.
Jim’s greatest satisfaction at work comes from seeing farmers achieve success with AEA products and methods. He also enjoys helping farmers solve problems with diseases and pathogens that the industry considers difficult, if not impossible, to overcome. When not working with farmers, Jim likes to camp, hike and snowboard with his kids. He also enjoys mountain biking and running in ultramarathon trail races.
