Christopher Mugler has worked in a variety of roles since 2008. Christopher began their career as a Resident Assistant in the Expanding Pathways in Science, Engineering and Mathematics Program at UC Santa Barbara. In 2009, they became a Biology Tutor at Advantage Testing. From 2010 to 2015, they worked as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley, where they received an Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor award from the Graduate Division's GSI Teaching & Resource Center. During this time, they also held Postdoctoral Researcher positions at the NIH Bridges to Baccalaureate Program and ETH Zurich. In 2018, they joined Amyris as a Scientist I, where they were the Metabolic strain engineering lead for a molecule project and an individual contributor on one additional project. Christopher was promoted to Scientist II and Scientist III.
Christopher Mugler obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from UC Santa Barbara between 2004 and 2008. Christopher then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the same field at the University of California, Berkeley, which they completed in 2014.
