Emily Trostel

Emily Trostel is a seasoned writer and editor with extensive experience in adventure travel, currently serving as the Writer and Adventure Travel News Editor at the Adventure Travel Trade Association since August 2022. Previously, Emily held a writing position at My Open Country and worked as a Destination Manager at Boundless Journeys for five years. Emily's diverse background includes teaching science and social studies, managing policy and communications, leading trips, and coordinating medical training in various outdoor education settings. Academic qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts in Nonfiction Writing focused on Environment & Natural Resources from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing with a concentration in History of Art & Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh. Further international education includes studies at Freie Universität Berlin, Drew University, and Semester At Sea.
