Jaime Brands has had a successful career in the marketing and publishing industries. In 2016, they became the Chief Operating Officer & Company Secretary for Adviser Ratings. In this role, they worked alongside the MD to navigate a rapid and fundamental stage of growth, as well as building the consumer and adviser member services and marketing functions. Prior to this, they were the Head of Performance for Ikon Communications from 2015 to 2016, where they motivated three separate teams to create a unified Performance marketing product. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Digital Marketing Freelance Consultant for Brands Inbound Marketing, working with both advertising agencies and client side SMBs. From 2010 to 2011, they were the Head of Knowledge Management & Thought Leadership for Google in the Asia Pacific region. From 2006 to 2010, they held various roles at Google, including Head of External Telesales Operations, Australia & New Zealand, Customer Satisfaction and Retention Lead, Australia & New Zealand, Account Manager, Google AdWords, and Relationship Manager, Travel & Media Industries, Google AdWords. From 2003 to 2006, they were the Publishing Editor for Lexis Nexis, where they published 3 criminal legislation and commentary products for the Australian market, in print, online and via CD.
Jaime Brands has a diverse educational background. In 1992, they graduated from Somerville House Brisbane High School for Girls with a Higher School Certificate. Jaime then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Queensland in 1999, with a double major in Sociology. In 2010, they studied Italian Language and Literature at Societa' Dante Alighieri. In 2013, they completed a Cambridge ESOL Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) (QCF) at the University of Cambridge. Additionally, Jaime has obtained certifications from Surf Life Saving Australia, such as a Bronze Medallion/Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) in 2008 and a Working With Children Check from RTA NSW in 2014.
