Mary Beth Kingston

Chief Nursing Officer at Advocate Health

Mary Beth is responsible for patient experience and nursing practice, standards, education, research and workforce in all care settings.

She joined Aurora Health Care in 2012 and was appointed to the Chief Nursing Officer role at Advocate Aurora Health in 2018. Prior to joining Aurora Health Care, she served in a variety of nursing and administrative roles, including Chief Nurse Executive at Einstein Healthcare Network, President of Bates and Associates, a healthcare consulting firm, and Vice President of Operations and Chief Nursing Officer at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in the Crozer-Keystone Health System.

Mary Beth is currently serving on the board of the Milwaukee Urban League and was elected to a three-year term (2021-2023) on the American Hospital Association board of trustees. She served on the board of the American Organization of Nurse Executives from 2014-2016 and was President in 2019. She is a recipient of the American Assembly for Men in Nursing’s Inclusion and Diversity Award (IDEA) and a Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow. Mary Beth was inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing in 2020.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at West Chester University, a master’s degree in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and PhD in health policy at the University of Sciences in Philadelphia.
