Álvaro Jiménez Rielo

Álvaro Jiménez Rielo serves as the Head of the CIO Office at Aegon since December 2019, overseeing IT strategy, governance, financial management, project portfolio management, third-party relationships, and IT administration. Prior to this role, Álvaro worked at Deloitte España from September 2012 to November 2019, progressing from Manager in IT Strategy to Experienced Senior Consultant, where responsibilities included management of consulting projects, stakeholder communication, team leadership, and IT business advisory. Earlier experience includes roles in R&D Software Engineering and as a research assistant at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, where Álvaro contributed to model-driven software engineering and developed a model-driven architecture tool. Álvaro holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems Engineering from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and completed a Master in Business Consulting at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, alongside a Master's degree and an Engineering degree in Information Systems Engineering from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
