Siard Runia

Siard Runia has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Siard started their career as a Callcenter Agent at Nuon, where they advised customers on gas and electricity contracts. Siard then moved on to an internship at VDL Groep, where they investigated LEAN and improved the production process through make-or-buy decisions. Following this, they worked as a Graduate Engineering Intern at GEA Group, where they determined batch sizes for production processes. Siard also worked at Ziggo as part of the initial customer service department, providing technical and administrative support. Siard then took on the role of a Master Thesis Project at UMCG, where they developed outpatient appointment scheduling policies. Siard had a brief stint at CrossOver Consultancy as a Callcenter Agent before joining IBM as a Blockchain Developer and later a Stibo Consultant and Developer. Most recently, they worked at Aegon as a DevOps Engineer and is currently serving as the Lead Engineer.

Siard Runia holds a Master's degree in Technology and Operations from the University of Groningen, which they obtained in 2017. Before that, they completed a Pre-master program in Technology and Operations at the same university, from 2015 to 2016. Siard also has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Industrial Engineering from NHL Hogeschool, which they earned from 2010 to 2014. Prior to their university education, Siard obtained their HAVO degree in Natuur & Techniek + Economie from CSG Comenius in 2010. Additionally, Siard has obtained various certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2023, Big Data Foundations - Level 1 and Python for Data Science from IBM in 2019, Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org in 2018, and several certifications related to IBM, such as IBM Blockchain Foundation Developer, IBM Blockchain Essentials, and IBM Design Thinking Practitioner, all obtained in 2017. Siard has also obtained a Healthcare Management Certificate from the University of Groningen in 2017.
