Shane Weisz

Shane Weisz has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Shane started their career as a Software Development Intern at Corion Capital in 2017, where they built statistical models and automated processes using Ruby and VBA. In 2019, Shane worked as a Data Scientist Intern at Isazi, gaining experience in data analysis and modeling.

In 2021, Shane joined Nomanini as a Backend Software Engineer, contributing to the development of fintech solutions for informal retailers in Africa. Shane worked on the microservices backend architecture using TypeScript and Node.js, and deployed them as Docker containers on a Kubernetes cluster.

Currently, Shane works at Aerobotics as a Data Scientist, where they focus on building AI solutions for sustainable agriculture. Shane'sresponsibilities include computer vision, machine learning model training and deployment, system architecture design, data engineering, and backend and occasional frontend development. Shane utilizes mobile imagery to automate fruit sizing and help farmers better understand their yield.

Shane Weisz has a diverse education history. Shane obtained their Master of Philosophy degree in Machine Learning and Machine Intelligence from the University of Cambridge from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town in 2020. From 2017 to 2019, Shane pursued a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, also at the University of Cape Town. Shane completed their secondary education at St David's Marist Inanda, where they obtained an IEB National Senior Certificate in 2016. This certificate covered various subjects including Mathematics, AP Mathematics, IT, History, Accounting, Physical Sciences, English, and Afrikaans.

Shane Weisz has also earned additional certifications. In May 2020, they completed a course on Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera. Additionally, they are a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, although the specific date of this membership is not provided.
