Hye-Ji Kim has a diverse work experience in the field of plant physiology and controlled environment agriculture. Hye-Ji is currently the Director of Research and Development at AeroFarms. Prior to that, they worked as an Assistant Professor at Purdue University from 2014 to 2021, where they managed research projects and developed interdisciplinary research initiatives in controlled environment agriculture. Before Purdue, they served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where they focused on applied and fundamental research supporting the ornamentals industries. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Instructor at the University of South Alabama and as a Research Associate at Cornell University. Hye-Ji also has experience as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Penn State University, where they investigated plant physiological responses and conducted experiments on plant development and productivity.

Hye-Ji Kim holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Horticulture from Penn State University. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Biological Production Science from Shizuoka University, and a Bachelor's degree in Horticultural Science from Korea University.
