Owen Cruse

Owen Cruse has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Most recently, they worked at AeroPay as a Software Engineer I, where they developed clean and safe code using Python and JavaScript. Owen also utilized various AWS services to contribute to the development of features on a distributed system. Prior to that, Owen worked at VMLY&R as a Software Developer Apprentice, creating custom single-page advertisements and sign-up pages for large brands using React, HTML5, and CSS. Owen integrated Facebook Pixel and Google Tag Manager for tracking usage and analytics. Additionally, Owen has experience in key-holder management at Best Buy, where they led a team, developed plans to minimize theft, and ensured store security. Owen worked their way up from a part-time warehouse employee to management. Owen also held roles as a Product Flow Specialist and Sales Associate at Best Buy, where they managed shipments, tracked inventory, and provided exceptional customer service. As a Software Development Intern at Henry Wurst, Inc., they gained exposure to software integration in a corporate setting, setting up and maintaining team management servers using Linux-based applications and bash scripting. Owen Cruse's education history begins with their attendance at Park Hill High School from 2015 to 2018. During their time there, they focused on Mathematics and Computer Science, although they did not obtain a degree. After completing high school, Owen enrolled at Flatiron School in 2020 and completed their studies in Computer Software Engineering in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Owen has obtained several certifications. In March 2021, they acquired certifications in Data structures and Algorithms, Java, and Python from HackerRank. Owen further expanded their knowledge and skills in May 2021 by earning a certification in Javascript from HackerRank. Moving forward, in August 2022, Owen obtained two certifications in Shopify App Development and Shopify Product Fundamentals, both from Shopify.
