Sean Plunkett

Sean Plunkett has over 29 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Sean'smost recent position is as the Vice President of Manufacturing and Device Engineering at Aerovate Therapeutics, Inc., where they started in August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Acorda Therapeutics, Inc. for 8 years, starting in October 2014 as the Executive Director of Device and Program Management. Before joining Acorda Therapeutics, Inc., Sean worked at Civitas Therapeutics as a Director from January 2012 to December 2014. From June 2008 to December 2011, they were a Research Fellow II at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where they contributed to the development of powder and solid material test methods and was involved in writing and analysis for NDAs. Sean started their career at Alkermes in August 1999 as the Director of Delivery Systems and worked there until March 2008. Prior to that, Sean worked at Medtronic as a Principal Engineer from May 1995 to June 1999 and at Xerotech Inc. as a Materials Engineer from November 1993 to May 1995.

Sean Plunkett earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 1983 to 1988. Sean then pursued further education at Caltech, where they completed their Master of Science and PhD degrees in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering between 1988 and 1994.
